Electric field effects in nematic liquid crystals

We consider electric fields acting on nematic liquid crystals and explore different modelling options, aiming to understand the differences between them. In particular we provide a dual formulation of the most standard approaches, reformulating the min-max problem as a minimization only problem. This is joint work with Giovanni di Fratta and Valeriy Slastikov.
